MARXISM 101
MARXISM 101 is part of the chapter’s “2022-2023 School Year for Parents” initiative, focusing on one critical issue in our schools per month. The April focus begins to tie all ideologies studied in previous months together in a presentation on the history of Marxism in Education, and especially, what it looks like in American education today.
In previous months MFL-WC has studied Critical Race Theory (CRT), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Gender Ideology, Restorative Justice, Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), and graphic sexual material (“Porn”) in school libraries. MARXISM 101 will show attendees how all of these issues, including the controversial Wit & Wisdom K-5 English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum, underpin Marxist pedagogy in our Tennessee classrooms, to kids as young as five years old.
Two keynote speakers will illuminate this issue for us: Xi Van Fleet, who survived Marxist education and indoctrination by Mao Zedong in the Chinese Cultural Revolution, and Dr. James Lindsay, expert on Marxist ideology and author of “Race Marxism” and “The Marxification of Education.”

Xi Van Fleet grew up in Mao’s China. She spent the entirety of her school years under the Chinese Cultural Revolution. After high school, she, along with all the urban youths, were forced to work in the fields for three years to be re-educated by the peasants. It was only following the death of Mao, that she was able to go to college. She came to America on a student visa in 1986 to pursue her graduate studies and stayed to become a naturalized American citizen. For the past 30 years, she worked in the field of Information Management and was never politically involved…until 2020. Compelled by her personal experience during the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the realization that what she experienced is taking place here in America, she has committed herself to warn the American people and help them to clearly see what is really happening now in America.
Dr. James Lindsay is an American author, mathematician, and political commentator. He has written eight books spanning a range of subjects including religion, the philosophy of science and postmodern theory. Dr. Lindsay is the Founder of New Discourses, an organization dedicated to shining the light of objective truth in subjective darkness. Dr. Lindsay is the co-author of “Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender, and Identity―and Why This Harms Everybody,” the author of “Race Marxism,” and “The Marxification of Education: Paulo Freire’s Critical Marxism and the Theft of Education,” released in December 2022. Dr. Lindsay has been a featured guest on Fox News, Glenn Beck, Joe Rogan, and NPR, and has spoken on the ravages of wokeism to the Oxford Union Society in Oxford, England, and most recently, the European Union Parliament in Brussels, Belgium
