There were seven public comments. Three against the flag, two for the flag, one from a county commissioner on the five-year capital plan and one other on child development. For the first time, we outnumbered the opposition and one of our commenters was a student. We hope to have more students in January.
Most of the discussion amongst the board was on the five-year plan, which is in the agenda above. It is nearly one billion dollars and there are a lot of unknowns right now. Enrollment was down this year but new houses are being built in several locations in the county. You can watch the discussion starting at the 1:26:10 mark. The only board member to vote against it was Donna Clements. Dan Cash did say that the plan is flexible and can be altered at any time. Eric Welch spent 15 mins talking about vouchers which starts at 1:06:06 if you are interested. Everything on the agenda passed including an amendment to the comment policy that limits comments to topics related to the operation of the schools.
There are no meetings for the month of December. We will be back at it in January. In the meantime you might want to read this excellent article about the transgender movement that is causing great harm to children worldwide.
